Some people call them training videos. We call them ethics movies. Its “The Office” meets “24″ meets “Out of Africa.” The point is to communicate your Standards of Business Conduct in a way that respects your audience and causes them to remember.
We’ve worked closely with a CCO and several compliance offices of major corporations to develop an episodic mockumentary training series that engages the viewer and causes them to want to pay attention. They incorporate many of the basic ethics and compliance issues that companies deal with every day. Issues like conflict of interest, diversity, harassment, sensitive information. And they take an approach unlike you’ve ever seen. These movies are already being used and seen by 17000 employees around the globe.
Structured into seasons, the movies are a series of 4-7 minute episodes, or vignettes, that build upon one another like episodic television. Each season follows a continuous through-line, each episode is designed to incorporate a broad range of issues, giving you the freedom to highlight the issues most relevant to your organization. How you deliver them is up to you: consecutively over an extended period of time or back to back.
This is only the beginning. Soon there will be multiple seasons and multiple series, sort of like our own network. We are creating some series that break out of the office environment and take the mockumentary approach into other industries. From there, we’ll begin to tackle other types of training.
Once you’ve discovered the wonder of keeping you’re employees informed AND entertained, you’ll want to make sure they take away everything they are supposed to. We accomplish this by filming you’re own executive summary teaching points and/or including study materials after each episode.
